quiltCon 2016
quiltCon 2016 was last weekend, in pasadena, ca, offering both quilters and non-quilters a glimpse of the fabulous works of modern fabric art, as well as vendors, classes & lectures... here, I'll give you a taste of what my four day experience was like --- enjoy!
here are a few of my fav's from the show...
{the geographer in me has a soft spot for the map quilt}
and a few more...
{the cassette tapes quilt is one of my most favorites, by lysa flower}
sashiko stitching --- which i have only recently happened upon, & fallen in love with --- was everywhere, giving this haberdasher new, creative ideas to put into play in upcoming designs...
michael miller's booth was a-maz-ing!
{i not-so-secretly wanted to swipe this mermaid gown & make it my own!}
{the elephant and giraffe quilts, by violet craft, were simply stunning}
vendor booth's had items on display, as well as craft to do during your visit, and swag to take home...
{i will definitely be making a silhouette pillow soon --- swoon!}
classes and lectures were on offer at quiltCon 2016 --- mind you, you had to sign up for them seven months in advance!
{if you are a sewer/quilter, you can follow the modern quilt guild online or via social media to be notified of when classes will be available for the next quiltCon --- in savannah, georgia, feb 2017}
i was lucky to get in to the castle treasury class by lizzy house, one of my favorite fabric designers... in her example, she used a treasure trove of pattern, whereas I've decided to use a number of fabrics from tula pink's eden collection.
i hope this small glimpse of the wonderfulness that is/was quiltCon inspires you to be creative, enjoy yourselves, and try something new!
